I have started another Twitter id - "EX1to4" . These are postcodes around here. So the Tweets will be about particular space.

Clips on YouTube are global. But they could be a local channel as well. Recently I have uploaded several from St Sidwell's Open Day.

Also I have noticed TV products from Logitech and Apple. the Logitech device supports google TV but is not yet available in the UK. It is on order in the USA so is real. It seems to be a sort of browser linked to a TV so that you can watch web content on a bigger screen.

The Apple device is closely linked to the iTunes shop but it also includes YouTube. It is available in the UK though the Exeter shop has still got the previous model on display this afternoon.

LA News Monitor Blog has a comparison. Things may change before this reaches the UK but the direction is towards one deviice with web search as a route to video. The aim of a local channel is still worth keeping in mind. But the way to gather material could be to work on whatever comes up through a postcode tag.
