The Guardian has a new approach to free gifts. Gone are the DVDs. Just a link to a download page.

However, I have trouble in getting it to load. I managed to install the Blinkbox downloader ok but it is surprising to me how little guidance you get on what is happening.

Now the main problem is Windows Media Player. It keeps telling me that I need an update. Itry to install it, nothing happens.

Version 11 for Windows XP

Another problem is that I don't know what the update is called. Trying from getting updates tells me there are none.

Microsoft Help mostly about privacy.

The Guardian had no explanation or guide to this offer. where is Jack Schofield when you need him? There has never been a free PDF to download, that would have been too simple. Suddenly there is a meg all at once.
