There was reasonable progress with #13swma for the South West Music Awards. It did get used and the video is getting some views. It actually takes much longer than expected for anything on YouTube to be discovered but eventually this could build up ok. I am mostly working with events that repeat so I guess they are discovered the next time around.

As well as #Zappa20 and #Deming20 ( see previous post ) I have now started on the other events for Phonic over the rest of the year. there is a reggae evening this Friday with Zion Train, the Nerdmare before Christmas, and also Martha and the Vandellas. Not a Phonic benefit but an event I look forward to. Also there is a lot of video already available.

Not sure how the ### will work. They may find several other events. The Martha wording is the same as her Twitter address. I now realise there is a proper video on iTunes so I don't think there is a case for trying another. There may be bits and pieces though, enough to suggest what happens in each location.

The general idea is to find ways of using Twitter to relate to the video. Additional video from the actual event so the playlist improves over time.

This could also work with #Deming20 but there is more theory involved here. Some new ideas coming up through Furturelearn courses. So more in next post when I catch up with this week's content.

David Keogh and Chilcot concerns

The Daily Mail has reported concerns that the Chilcot enquiry may never conclude as there is a problem in being able to publish certain documents, including notes between Tony Blair and President Bush.

I have been looking back at stories I did for OhmyNews at the time of the trial of David Keogh and Leo O'Connor. As reported in the Daily Express they were sent to jail for leaking documents rumoured to relate to Al Jazeera. A statement in court was not reported. The legal approach relied on special statements signed by a minister.

The two stories I can find so far are here and here. OhmyNews has not gone away. I am not going to fill this blog with finding it all again but I think this history could be relevant.

There are limits on what the London papers usually report. Sometimes there is more ion the USA reporting, for example the Daily Beast or New York Times.

More on ###tags - #Deming20 and #Zappa20

The hashtag for the South West Music Awards worked ok eventually - #13swma . It took a while to get known but I found through Topsy that it was widely used. I am going to experiment with some other ones, to promote Phonic benefits and to identify video relating to Edwards Deming.

This may seem an odd combination but as it happens the next Phonic event is around Frank Zappa. Both Zappa and Deming died 20 years ago roughly so this may be a good time to evaluate where there work is now. As with #13swma I will set up a playlist on YouTube and develop the list through tweets.

I hope to find some Japanese quality ideas as well as Deming. I think he gained something in Japan as well,as teaching. this is not often mentioned in books and there is not much I can find about recent work on Deming, especially in Asia. But maybe thewre is video somewhere and Twitter could be a way to find it. 

I contribute to the Wild Show on Phonic FM. Usually when I play a record from the 70s I am described as bringing back "hospital radio" and we then have to play something from this century. So I wonder if we will get to play much Zappa on daytime.

#13swma Video from South West Music Awards

I recorded some video clips at the South West Music Awards and have loaded 8 to YouTube. These are now part of the playlist. 

I also updated a blog on "Selling Music From A Script" . I find Blogger is easier to use for multiple videos. Also I like going back to previous ideas every so often. This blog is good to keep things together but links back also useful. Some situations seem to resolve just through time.

Most views so far for Sirens Call by Pat Orchard. I tried the zoom on this one and just about sorted the lighting. You can make it out. the sound is ok as I got a feed from the desk.

Spacex airspace in line of sight from St Thomas station #13swma

Previously I applied for the airspace above Spacex. This was part of the Atelier over the summer. They have a backyard and I proposed it be the base for a wifi balloon that would allow a network over a certain range of Exeter. Of course there aremany networks already but this would allow mutual security through automated duplication.

So yesterday I checked that there could be a connection from Charlies, site for the South West Music Awards tomorrow. (We still don't know what the wifi will be like but I am just going to record toa card and upload anything useful on the weekend)

The photo is from the platform on St Thomas station. I guess the building view is much the same. So it looks as if graphics and sounds could be shared quite readily
